Statistical manuscript review, with fewer robes
Upload a manuscript and its supported supplements. Error Barbarian reads the text, tables, figures and enabled static-code formats together, recalculates what can be checked, and returns a plain-English report with exact quotations, source citations and visible limitations.
Private testing is invitation-only. The suspicious eyebrow is included.
01 / The assignment
The review follows the paper's evidence trail instead of handing out mysterious red flags.
One primary manuscript plus supported supplements. PDF and CSV are standard; additional inert document, table and static-code formats appear only when enabled. Context matters, especially when Table 2 and Appendix C have stopped speaking to each other.
Counts, percentages, effect estimates, p-values, uncertainty, methods, captions, axes and conclusions all get a closer look.
The review looks for internal and cross-file inconsistencies, including results that change outfits between prose, plots and supplements.
02 / The return package
Exact source quotations and page locations sit beside every retained finding.
Supported calculations and verification status stay visible. The reviewer tests credible alternative explanations and reports material limitations.
Plain-English explanations separate consequential problems from awkward but harmless reporting.
Missing evidence and incomplete checks become explicit limitations, not debris swept under a very scientific rug.
03 / Optional backup
Add an independent whole-report double check. The second review challenges the first, looks for alternative explanations and marks only retained findings as independently confirmed. A focused recheck can examine one finding later without rewriting the original report.
Fine print, written in normal-sized print
Error Barbarian screens the documents you provide. It does not reproduce analyses from unprovided raw data and code, replace a statistician, or prove that a manuscript is error-free.
Source files are encrypted and access-controlled in the app, and retained until you delete the study.

Error Barbarian is currently available by invitation to people and organisations that write, review, or publish scientific studies. Tell us briefly who you are and how you would like to use it.
